Happy March to All!

Spring is just on the horizon and it is hard to believe that 302 Family Medicine has been open for 4 months already! It has been a lifetime goal for me to open my own medical practice and I sincerely appreciate the support from each and every one of you, without which this would not have been possible.

I am writing to you today with some exciting news. 302 Family Medicine will be transitioning to a new electronic medical record (EMR) over the next few weeks. As with any new business, there is a certain level of experimentation and figuring out what will work for long-term success. It is my belief that this transition will allow myself and my staff to provide more efficient and patient-centered care moving forward while still maintaining the personalized level of service that you all expect.

We will be transitioning to our new product, Athena Health, on March 24th, 2023. For those of you who saw me in my previous practice, you will most likely recognize this product and be very familiar with its functionality as this is the EMR that was used there. For those of you who are new to the practice, I would like to highlight a few new features you will experience with this transition:

  1. A simpler and more robust Patient Portal, making it easier to reach me for questions or concerns as well as organize your health information in one place.

  2. Improved electronic communication with local laboratory and imaging facilities as well as some connection with local hospitals, allowing us to electronically send orders and coordinate care.

  3. More efficient check-in, triage, and check-out procedures which will hopefully allow us to decrease wait times in the office and move you through your visit more smoothly.

There is nothing specific you need to do regarding this transition right now. All existing appointments will be honored and kept as previously scheduled. If we do need to move your appointment for any reason, we will reach out to you directly regarding this. During this process, there may be some duplication of services initially until we fully transition to our new product (appointment reminders, paperwork, etc.). There may also be an extended wait time in the office as we adapt to a new system. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as myself and my staff navigate through this transition.

If you have any questions regarding this process or want more information, please do not hesitate to contact us at (302) 300-3514. Our normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

I appreciate your continued support of myself and my staff and look forward to continuing to serve you for years to come.
